It should be no surprise that a healthy sex life depends on proper nutrition.  In general, good nerve function, appropriate hormone levels and unobstructed blood flow are essential to a healthy libido and sexual performance.  To keep these systems in working order, a diet should be based on legumes, grain products, and other complex carbohydrates, with plenty of fruits and vegetables and modest levels of protein; this diet provides plenty of vitamins and minerals.  Although there have not been any credible clinical studies proving the aphrodisiac effect of certain foods, there is substantial anecdotal information available that would strongly suggest that adding the following nutrients and foods to your diet will have a positive impact on your sex life.
