I started my day off with a cup of hot lemon water. I added lemons this time around but you can have it plain. Starting off your day this way helps to eliminate toxins. In addition, you’re also drinking an alkaline beverage. Our bodies need to be alkaline in order to be homeostasis.
Once I get to work, I usually drink a Yerba Mate tea or a black tea. Yerba Mate (yer-bah mah-tay) has the “strength of coffee, the health benefits of tea, and the euphoria of chocolate” all in one beverage.
Black teas are great too! According to WebMD, black tea is used for improving mental alertness as well as learning, memory, and information processing skills.
For non-coffee drinkers these teas would be perfect for a little pick-me-up. Here’s a brand I usually drink. I enjoy this particular flavor because of the natural herbs in it. It has ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, black pepper and star anise. It’s so good!
Throughout the day I also drink green and white teas. They’re also great and packed with anti-oxidants. I consume about 4-5 cups of teas alone at work, and I also drink lemon water.
Drinking a lot of healthy beverages throughout the day is optimal for your overall health.
All of the detoxification functions in the body—including breathing, sweating, urinating and defecating—require water. Thus, easier detoxing is one of the primary health benefits of drinking water daily.
